My complaint:

Been banking with same bank since early 90’s. I have about 8 accounts at PNC and was completely happy with Compass and BBVA before PNC bought them out. I make sure my accounts stay well above the 500, to make sure I’m not charged the 7 to 25 dollar monthly fee. I never wrote a bad check, I have 849 credit score, I pay my bills before the due dates for past 40 years. But, in Nov. 2022, PNC deducted 25.00 from one of my accounts. I was able to get it taken off online chat which took a very long time, over an hour and a half, but still it was taken off. However, same thing happened again in December, PNC deducted another 25.00. I tried to contact online and they said I would have to go to the bank, they couldn’t help me. I tried calling and never got a real person for days and hours I tried. I’m very sick at the time and got a neighbor to write a letter regarding the 25.00 charge and I forced myself to drive to the local bank and gave letter to the drive though. The teller told the Manager so Manager came over speaker and said I would have to make an appointment in the future to come into the bank and speak with the manager in order to get the 25.00 taken off my account. I’m just in shock that they made the error and did not correct it online much less not even correcting it with a lengthy letter regarding their mistake on my account. It’s like going back to the 1980’s when you had to go into the bank to get anything done. I would like for this to be resolved as well as others who deal with this same thing. I wonder how many folks are getting charged these fees when they have hundreds of thousands in PNC, that PNC is making $$$$$$ money off of already and then add on these ridiculous charges. It is not fair, it is WRONG. And to be forced to make an appointment (Who has time to do this in real life?) to correct their mistakes, it is shocking to me. Never had any of the banking issues with Compass and BBVA.

Suggested solution:

1. Stop charging customers who are abiding by their rules and keeping enough in their bank accounts to not be charged. 2. Refund my 25.00 and make sure it does not happen again in future months 3. And be able to speak to a real live person on the phone and get problems solved in reasonable times online or the phone without having to drive to bank and go inside and have appointments to get the mistakes PNC created resolved. They are putting the customers out, very inconvenient, to fix their mistakes that could and should be resolved online or phone.
