My complaint:
I was at the shop this evening(05/08/2023) on Normanton road Derby, when I had an odd occasion with one of the staff by the name Stacy. The manner in which she speaks to customers is horrible for someone whom I think, should have adequate training on customer service.
I went to the till for some change so I can then have a couple of bets. She was quite dismissive because she had her headphones on and she was watching and listening to something on her phone. When I told her that her attitude was rude and unprofessional, her responds was I don’t come into the shop and tell her what is right or wrong, that if I read the notice on the board, they manage the shop and they can do what they want. My opinion doesn’t count. I got really angry and she sent out of the shop saying, she is not here to serve me, that I am not a king. Of which my responds was, you therefore don’t why you are working here.
I have been in that shop several times; I have never seen Gorden(shop manager) on his phone. He attend to customers and quite conversational if he has to be.
People want to loss their money happily, not been spoken to in such a manner and I do not know why they are using their phones in such manner. Maybe it is a company policy. If they are cameras in the building and behind the till, she could be clearly seen on her phone.
William Hill, is nearby, so I went there, after she kicked me out of the shop. Hope she gets disciplined, else I will not be going into shop again, alongside my friends.
Suggested solution:
Discipline the employee, banned phones to be used while working, give employee adequate training and worse case, a sack
