My complaint:
At a time when there is an outcry in society to address hate speech, intolerance, racism, anti Semitic tropes, fake news and other plagues that need to be confronted responsibly, it is reprehensible that a story that stokes antisemitism and essentially gives cover to those more than than happy to attack and denounce Israel, should be aired as a “joke” on network television.
It is nice that those at SNL have finally gotten around to addressing issues such as minority representation on their own show, maybe they shouldn’t be so quick to wade into subjects that can be so highly offensive, irresponsible and dangerous.
Suggested solution:
Publicly acknowledge that is was irresponsible to convey information that was not accurate, or substantiated in any way, and that they recognize how such casual treatment of such a story can be dangerous.
