My complaint:
Dear Sirs,
I am a great admirer of your nightly show(s): Chris, Rachel (Ali), Lawrence and Stephanie. Love the hosts, insights and comments. Great line up and perspectives!
I have noticed, as Covid has driven interviews on Zoom that the background of the guests are challenging to manage. However, i do believe with a little more attention by the MSNBC production stafff that these background inconsistencies could modifiedeliminated. For example, with the above mentioned Andrew Weissmann interview, his background was a bedroom with his dog on the bed, the dog was at times cleaning himself – not a great image, Ms. Ruhle at the interview inquired what type of dog it was and appreciated Mr. Weissmann sharing himher with the audience (I beg to differ on this point). I have noticed this on many occasions the quality of the background is questionable, I. and I would summize that many viewers, do not want to see the inside of a hotel room (bed shot) or the kitchen background of someones kitchen. Once again, I know this working around Covid and interviewers travel schedules is challenging. However, I do believe there might be some alternatives that your production staff can investigate with the use of technology?
Suggested solution:
MSNBC production people come up with a technological green screen that they can superimpose the same screen shot that the host (interviewer) has in their studio green screen. Another option, is that consultants, i.e. Mr. Weisman, have a standard background screen that is easy to set-up in there home or on the road in a remote location (increased logistical cost but manageable when you consider the value of a professional image?
