My complaint:

My husband was at work testing driving his sister car with his sister. Tupelo Police Department pulled him over because Tupleo Police Department racially profiles black daily. He had a warrant, for improper equipment, then the Mississippi Department of Corrections or his Patrol Officer, put a hold on him. Now they keep saying he doesn’t know when he’ll see him. He has been in the county jail since Thursday of last week. It’s now Monday. And we still have no clue when he will be released. This is someone’s freedom and livelihood that’s not a felon and his freedom is taken away, for a little of nothing. All this man does is go to work, go home, take a shower, then watch the news, then goes to bed. Which was why he was put on low risk. Why would the Mississippi Department of Corrections lock someone like him up. I would not be complaining if I didn’t know all of what I have stated to be facts. Why can’t his patrol officer not tell him how much he needs to pay, so he can go on with his life. We know he has not been to see his Patrol Officer, we also know that he needs to pay on his fine. Thats fine. Why keep a low risk person over 5 days in jail. The jails and the prisons were not meant to be used for the purposes that they are currently now being used.

Suggested solution:

Patrol officers should go to the jail tomorrow and tell him how much he should pay on his fine. Then take the hold off of him he is not a felon. So he may bond out.
