Living Spaces complaint: Improper Delivery, Restock and PIck Up fees $407.50

My complaint:

On 8-20, We bought a reclining chair with exiting lift assistance from Living Spaces Fremont Store for my wife’s recovery from a broken right shoulder and Right Knee Cap. SO 009967524. I was assured by the salesperson in the store that the controls could be adapted to either side – this is not correct. I never would have bought the chair if it had only right-side controls, it would be useless for my wife due to her inability to use her right side.

As soon as the chair was delivered on 820 I contacted Living Spaces to ask the chair be returned and the 10% restocking charge waived because, as stated the salesperson gave us the wrong information. After several days of interacting with online chat, I was told waiving the restocking fee was not possible “due to the chair being ordered online, not in-store” – that makes no sense and I actually did order it in the store, the salesperson added to my cart but never emailed it to me, so I had to go to website and order. Adding further insult, I was told there would be an additional $99 pick-up fee.

I am a very unsatisfied customer – The chair’s features were misrepresented; the chat line was slow and offered no resolution; the pick-up fee was never mentioned.

I believe the 10% $169.50 restocking fee; $139 delivery fee and the $99 pick-up fee (total of $407.50) should be waived and credited to my account ASAP.
