My complaint:

I have worked at Jersey Mike’s in the Logan, Utah location and was a reliable employee for the majority of my employment. I was sick with the flu two weeks ago and as soon as I found out I let my manager know and tried to get coverage. When I couldn’t I was told by other employees that I intentionally not showing up and that I was to blame. This last week after being sick I was scheduled at a bad time and was supposed to go out of town, I let my manager know as soon as possible and asked everyone to cover my shift and no one would. I let my manager know when it was day of and didn’t hear anything from him. After that he didn’t schedule me at all and then hasn’t responded to any of my messages. I then heard from a different employee that I was fired and if I knew. I haven’t heard anything from any management and am being told that I am no longer employed but have no knowledge of this. It’s extremely unprofessional and through my entire work experience with the new management I have been continuously been not responded to and felt like I was treated poorly because their views of me. This has been a horrible work environment and I’m extremely mad at the fact that I was not informed about anything.

Suggested solution:

I don’t want to work here any longer but management needs to come a long way before they manage things at a professional level. They need to be more communicative with their employees about what they need to work on and what they can do to be better. As well as training them instead of throwing them into the job and expecting them to be proficient. As well as treating their employees with respect and not treating them poorly based on how they feel about them as a person.
