My complaint:
I respected the business’s boundaries and rules. It’s standard for the kitchen to close 30 minutes before the restaurant’s closing time. This IHOP seemed to close the kitchen at 9:30 pm no matter how many customers were being served. There didn’t seem to be much in the way of closing duties for the server who had the closing shift. It was like, the server would cash out, collect the dishes and clean the table used by the last customer, and there would be no more work to do. Yay… I can leave even though it’s before 10:00. There were many nights where it seemed to be pretty dead in there. I walked in and was seen by this female server as a nuisance rather than an asset to the business. I was conscientious to never try to order anything past 9:29 or leave the restaurant past 9:59. I’ve seen that particular server turn people away who walk in at around 9:20. They were messing with her going home agenda. That server probably vented at me like that to make me not want to come back. It worked. She gets to keep her job and not have me return. She wins double for her abrasive behaviour so to speak!
