My complaint:
My wife and I stayed at this hotel on 12/21/22. We pulled in after 11 pm to get a room. We had no pet. The desk clerk asked for my credit card which I expected. He told me a “deposit” would be charged in case of damage and the charge would be reversed if there were no damage at checkout. I thought it was odd, but I was tired and didn’t question it. I don’t recall if he said the amount of the “deposit.” The next morning we checked out by phone after a stay of about 8 hours and didn’t get a receipt from the clerk. (The night clerk was not on duty.) I later discovered a charge of $341.58 on my card. The usual charge was $124/night. I called the hotel manager twice to correct this and she would not return my calls. I put it in dispute with my cc company which provided a credit of $217.58, but the hotel later reversed the credit. This I s clearly fraudulent business conduct and certainly not what I would expect from Hampton Inn. I would strongly suggest travelers avoid this Hotel. I won’t be staying at a Hampton Inn again.
Suggested solution:
Reimburse my $217.58.
