My complaint:
Morning
I took my bike to Halfords Bangor yesterday. Firstly what a shambles. I had it booked in for a free health check at 11:00 o’clock. I got there in plenty of time. I was told i had to take it up two flights of steep stairs, I tried to get the bike in the lift with may I add staff looking on, however it was to big. No offer of assistance I struggled up these stairs by myself. Not a good start.
I got to the bike counter and explained to the young Man that was in by himself that the battery on my Carrera vengeance E spec has been playing up and could he check it out. Also it was agreed he would put two new tyres and some mud guards on.
He told me he was not allowed to do the back wheel as its electric and I would have to wait until another chap came in at 11:30. I agreed. I eventually picked my bike up at 15:00hrs ish. They hadn’t even looked into my request of checking the battery so annoying as the whole point was the battery is still under guarantee ( please advise as its only doing about 14 miles max on level road surface). I paid the bill and off I went. Oh had to struggle down the two flights of steps by myself with no offered assistance !! Sadly I have awoken this morning to a pain in my right shoulder, I can only put this down to the struggle I had with my bike up and down these steps.
Anyway when I returned home there is damage to my bike. The wheel paint is scratched I presume when they did the tyre and some horrible deep scratches on the front forks, a small dent in the frame and some more scratches and oil where the chain has obviously been off and left rubbing on the frame.
As you may be able to tell this bike is my pride and joy and was spotless when I took it to Halfords for a free health check.
So summary
1) – Battery needs to be replaced under guarantee
2)- Damage to my bike. Caused whilst in for its health check and tyre replacement.
