My complaint:

Good afternoon,
I took my hybrid bike [Gents 18 speed Boardman comp] on the 14th May 22.
From the initial assessment, it was suggested I go for a ‘Gold Service] I collected the bike a couple of days later.
Two days later I was cycling in the Yorkshire Dales. Within 30 minutes or so, the gear shift would not move out of 18th gear. Having checked the bike over, it was apparent that the gear cable [new] to the rear had slipped through the holding bolt. On attempting to feed it back and tighten it up, it wouldn’t do so, due to the bolt being over tightened in the service and the thread had been stripped. Apart from a few downward hills. I had to push the bike back to my Motorhome

Suggested solution:

I returned the bike the following day to have it repaired. I received a text the following day to say it was ready. I collected it and tried it the following day.

On riding it around my neighbourhood, the gears were clunky and some gears couldn't be selected. Also on moving from 9th to 10th gear the chain kept coming off. So it went back again. Subsequently on collection and testing. It was no better. So back it went again.
It doesn't end there. I took it back a further 3 times. On collecting and testing on the 6th time. It was the best it had been, but still clickingclunking in 9th gear. I haven't returned it this time as I fear that it will come back worse than now. I am extremely disappointed with the service have spend £205. Each trip to the store is a 40 mile round trip, which means I have covered over 200 miles to try to and have it to the standard I paid for.
I would like a some kind of refund for the service and diesel so I can get it sorted elsewhere.
Keith
