My complaint:

I purchased a new upright refrigeratorfreezer with side doors about a year ago. The Led Light went out in the freezer, and it took two weeks to repair that. When the LED light was being replaced myself and the service technician noticed that there was a tear on the gasket around the freezer door. It took one week for the gasket to be sent to my home and another to another week for them to come and replace the gasket. On 17 December 2021 a technician came to my home and replaced the gasket. On 18 Dec. 2021, my wife noticed a buildup of ice on everything in our freezer. I inspected the gasket, and you can plainly see that it is not properly installed. I have ice on everything and everywhere in my freezer and all my food is covered with frost and ice. Ice is forming on the outer inside of the freezer. I have to keep wipe down the inside of the freezer because of the ice buildup. I was told on 18 Dec. 2021 that an emergency work order was put in and I received a work order 065493223. I also was told to make a call requesting a new service repair for something that was supposed to be fixed.

Suggested solution:

I can't believe that I was told that there is no resolution for my problem until the 5 Jan 2022. this is totally unacceptable to have this severe problem and I must wait 3 weeks until someone can do anything. This refrigerator is new and should not have these sorts of problems. I should not have to keep cleaning up ice for 3 weeks because the gasket was not properly replaced. After the replacement of the gasket, it appears that it still needs to be replaced properly. Maybe the freezer door needs to be replaced or give me a new refrigerator. I feel as though my extended warranty is to no benefit to me. Why must I wait 3 weeks until someone shows some concern when it is obvious this is an emergency.

2 years ago - I strongly feel as though General Electric did not properly handle my emergency and my problem still exist. What if parts need to ordered? Will it take another 2 weeks before the part arrives at my home thru the mail? That means it will take even longer before my troubles are resolved. How can General Electric not consider this an emergency especially during the holidays when I have a freezer that is not working properly. It's very difficult for me to understand why I was told an emergency work order was put in and on 20 Dec. 2021 I was told no one could come to my home until 5 Jan. 2022. This is totally too long to have to keep wiping ice and frost off and out of the freezer. I'm totally disappointed how I been treated, and all the apologies still has not gotten anything resolved and mean while ice keeps accumulating in my freezer. Can't use my freezer for the holidays and this is very frustrating and disappointing to myself and my family. I was supposed to go out of town but that won't happen now with a freezer that I have to keep wiping drown because of frost and ice. What about my food in the freezer? Everything is freezing solid to each other, and I wonder who is concerned? This is totally inexcusable and totally unacceptable. I certainly have some negative thoughts about General Electric! Especially how your customer service are quick to offer apologies but has done very little to resolve my problem. I was told I was put on a cancellation list but my appointment is still on 5 Jan. 2022.
