My complaint:

A whole long time back, Chick peas were advertised, but were not available, so I complained. I was told that these products come from India, there probably were shipping delays, and so not available. I told them that Check peas were produced in Canada, were not imported, were available in plentiful quantities at No Frills, and therefore the above excuse was not valid. They promised to get me the product, and they did!

On Monday this week, I spoke to the manager again and showed her a packing of Check peas where it was clearly written that it was a product of Canada, but hence there should be no trouble getting the same. I showed displeasure that it still was not on the shelf. She said to me : “If you have a complaint about it, call Gelda Foods. We have nothing to do with it. They are the ones who come here and put items on the shelf”. I pointed out to her that I was dealing with Food Basics, not Gelda Foods, and that she had to take the responsibility if the service was not satisfactory. She then said that if I really was interested in the product, I could go to the Food Basics branch at Bayview and Major McKenzie Drive in Richmond Hill. “They have more space and can shelf these items better”, she told me.

A manager sending its customers to another location for a product they should keep in store? Which manager sends its customer elsewhere? Which manager does not make an effort to get the product the customer needs?

I Iive within walking distance from this store, but am sorry to tell you that I frequently shop at No Frills because of such and similar customer service. Can we get a manager who will try to get the product their customers need?

Suggested solution:

Better management of the store
