My complaint:

Low pay:

Before my termination on September 4, 2022, we had started around August something known as a Shift Change where 2nd and 3rd Shift would work a set of 3 days for 12 hours (3rd Shift was Sunday-Tuesday and 2nd Shift was Wednesday-Friday and I swapped from 2nd to 3rd Shift as I was misled on the time schedule. Both were from 5pm-5am). I was using an app called DailyPay to check the amount I made for the 12 hours I’ve worked (and cash out early for gas) and for Sundays and Tuesdays I received $75 or less when I was supposed to have made either $120 or $130 since I was working for $15 an hour and I was was supposed to have made more for the extra hours past the 12 hour limit as I was forced to stay longer partly until my replacement came in and partly because I had to do full housekeeping in two different areas by myself.

Overworked in dangerous area:

When I worked there, I was made permanently as a shipping jammer up until my termination where I was above shipping (top image) literally by myself having to handle all 21 lanes by myself with everything, including detailed housekeeping. Some of the biggest problems I faced every day, even before the Shift Change, were the following; 1) there were no working air conditioning and the fans barely did any good unless you’re covered in sweat and it’s extremely hot to the point where even I nearly passed out plenty of times. 2) There was heavy combinations of dust and rust on the crossover railings and I wound up with red marks due to allergies. 3) I was never given even a few minutes to recuperate in front of a fan and was zigzagged all over the place.
Around two months before the Shift Change, the managers had maintenance take down all the tarps underneath the conveyors (bottom image) for cleaning in preparation for the FDA and the tarps were never put back up since then till my termination. Aside from having a bad knee, I also had occasional bad stepping where I would get a lead foot and inadvertently step on the rollers and sometimes I would intentionally get onto the rollers when I have no other choice when it comes to pushing cases around or toss them over. Already once in such occasion of pushing cases, my entire left leg went through a gap I didn’t see since maintenance had a tendency to remove a roller and not replace it on the spot and I would have fell through entirely had I not have grabbed a nearby rail fast enough.

Bullied and Neglectful Management;

When I started working there, we had decent managers who took action immediately when complaints came in and they listened real well. They were replaced, unfortunately, with shoddy ones. When I was receiving low pay during the Shift Change, I complained about it to the 3rd Shift managers and their response was Well it’s only money. On two separate occasions, I had one manager in 2nd Shift openly speak ill about me through the radio after having me running all over the place and blamed me for letting everything pile up and the other in 3rd Shift do the same thing. When I was wrongfully screamed at, directly in my face, by maintenance over a mild non-threatening error, I tried to file a complaint to the managers and I got told nothing can be done about it.

Suggested solution:

Put the management through some heavy retraining, get maintenance to fix the air conditioning, and look into the pay system.
