My complaint:

I visited the Family Dollar at 3295 Hwy 124, Snellville, GA today (9272020) Upon entering the store, I asked an employee who was scrapping tape from the door with a box cutter, if there were shopping carts inside the store. I saw carts outside and wanted to grab one just in case they did not have any inside anymore. She turned and gave me a blank stare as if I was bothering her and said nothing. I got a cart from outside and after entering the store, I thought to myself, customer service is awful; don’t come back here. I picked up snacks an ice cream sandwich, cookies and peanuts Once at the checkout line, the girl was pleasant, greeted me etc. After paying for my items, I waited for her to place them in a bag. Instead, she pushed them toward me and moved away. I asked for a bag, she said, we don’t have any. I asked, if they were out of small bags and, she said, yes. At the counter to her right, I could clearly see grey Family Dollar bags. I asked for one of those bags and was told that they are for larger purchases. I asked if this was the stores policy not to bag items because I was not aware and didn’t see anything posted. She stated that it was a store policy. I stated to the young lady that I would not carry the items out of the store without a bag. She asked, if I wanted a trash bag because that’s all they had? I was completely stunned and could not believe that this is a store policy. I will never shop at another Family Dollar store, EVER!

Suggested solution:

The employee should have offered the larger bag, period. To offer a customer a trash bag to place purchased items in is unacceptable.
