My complaint:

I purchased three tickets on Friday June 10, 2022 to Tallahasee, Fl. My father was on hospice. Our fly out date was Sat. June 11, 2022. on Mon. morning (June 13,2022) we extended our three tickets one more day costing us another $300.00. I was told we could get a discount due to the circumstances and no one cared. i paid the extra $300 on top of the 800 for three tickets. We were scheduled to fly back Tues. June 14, 2022 at 6:52 pm. Our flight was delayed three times (which i understand it was rain storm related) We finally got to Atlanta, GA at 11:00 PM. There were no fights back to Green Bay, WI. or Appleton for two days. We were sent on our way. I paid $200 a night to spend two days in Atlanta. We paid for hotel and supplies and food for three people for a two and a half day layover. When we finally flew out from Atlanta to Detroit MI to catch a connecting flight to Green Bay, we could not land in Detroit. The plane then flew to Cleveland to refuel and when we finally got back to Detroit, Delta did not rebook us bacl to Green Bay, WI. We waited in line at airport for over 45 min. There was no more flights until the next day until 4:35 Pm. We asked to be placed on stand by for three flights back to Green Bay, WI. My husband talked to three people at the service counter all guaranteeing us we were on standby. At the end of the second flight out we went back to the service desk to for the third times we were on standby and the agent told us our standbys were never activated in the computer. While we were trying to explain my father died and we had been trying to get back home for three days the agent answered her text message on her personal phone. My husband, mother and I have never been treated so poorly in our lives. My husband will never fly again. I grieved my fathers passing while being in three different airports for days. it is devastating to know this airline is taking thousands upon thousands of dollars from hard working people for tickets and airport purchases, who think they will being treated kind and have great flying experiences. I’m appalled.

Suggested solution:

I would like my three purchased tickets refunded ,plus the extra 300 dollars spent for the extended day. I would also like to be reimbursed for my hotel purchases of $200 dollars a day for two days. I would also like food and hotel or travel vouchers for future travel of any kind.
