Delta Air Lines complaint: Delayed baggage, lied about process, and incorrect instruction

My complaint:

I was flying from Dublin to LAX. I was instructed by the carrier leaving Dublin that my checked bag would arrive at my final destination. When I arrived in Houston from Amsterdam to connect to my flight to Los Angeles, I asked a representative if I needed to pick up my bag and re-check it before I continue with the domestic portion of my trip, and was reiterated that my checked bag would automatically be transferred with no additional action required on my part. When I arrived at LAX, my bag was not at baggage claim and I was informed that my bag was still in Houston, and I should have picked up my bag in Houston and re-checked prior to my final flight. I was also told that I would be given a phone call to come pick up my bag on the following day.

It is now 10 PM on the following day and I have not received any phone call. I have been on hold for a culmination of over 10 hours with no one of the proper authority responding to me until 1:10 AM in the morning when I was asleep. Today I tried again and was on hold for over six hours before being told that the line is closed for the day. This is the second time on this trip that Delta has lied to me about this one issue. I’m not even bringing up the fact that I had to wait 10 hours at the airport to get a replacement flight in order to begin my trip in the first place.

Suggested solution:

Cash compensation of at least $2000 for travel and goods costs along with the cost of the ticket. Or 200,000 skymiles.
