My complaint:
I was absolutely appalled at his monologue in re: Queen Elizabeth ll death. He made comments about her majesty that I found very insulting. I am British by birth, and have been a very proud American Citizen for the last 47 years, until last night when I physically cringed at Colbert’s crude and unwarranted comments. I immediately changed channels and will never watch him again.
The American people have always had nothing but admiration and love for the Royal Family and have always held them in high esteem, and rightly so. And then along comes this rube and literally trashes them, and he thinks that is funny?
The Queen had only died 6 days earlier, not even buried yet. I feel that this is an unforgivable act on his part and should be dealt with appropriately, and not just a slap on the wrist.
I am sure that I am not alone in this opinion, and I sincerely hope that CBS does not sweep this deplorable act under the carpet. I have copied this comment, and will not leave it alone, and will go as high as Leslie Moonves if necessary.
Suggested solution:
When appropriate action is taken. There are enough Mensa's on CBS's board of directors to make this decision.
