My complaint:

I have been doing business with Eldorado Big John’s (EBJ), a “full-service” butcher shop, regularly since November 2023 for four specific meat items that are not typically showcased at EBJ’s meat counter. My initial interactions were with the department head, who introduced me to another staff member responsible for my orders during his vacation. This staff member was professional and set up my repeat orders efficiently.

However, upon the department head’s return, the service deteriorated significantly. My orders were lost, and conversations became difficult, making me feel devalued despite my significant monthly purchases. A recent attempt to place an order for a regularly showcased meat item in a larger quantity ended abruptly when the department head refused to take my order and hung up on me.

This experience highlights a potential issue of deceptive advertising and discrimination, as the service promised and provided varied greatly, especially concerning for a customer such as myself, a widowed senior with a disability. Management issues, disorganization, pricing inaccuracies, and outdated equipment have all contributed to a poor customer experience. Efforts to address these issues with the co-owner were dismissed, leaving me with no choice but to seek alternatives in a town with limited options. This situation calls for urgent attention to customer service and operational management at EBJ.

Suggested solution:

Stop discriminatory deceptive advertising practices while resuming filling my special meat orders, as prior, while being respectful and professional.
