Aramark complaint: I have been at my job for almost 7 years. Aramark took over the contract 6 months ago.

My complaint:

I started this job with another contract company August 2016. They lost their contract to Aramark and in December 2022 they took over. In January 2023, I was asked if I wanted todo the Grab and Go program. I agreed, and was given some recipes and stickers for some of the products we were going to be doing.
At no time did any manager sit down and go over what was expected. The par. Nothing.
When I signed on with them they also gave us tenure for the years we put in with the other company. Told us that they are about Family, keeping up good report with their employees. I was told by the Director of HR, who did all my paperwork with me, worked with me getting onboarded, and told everyone exactly what they wanted us to hear. She told us, and I quote, “ if you don’t call or show up for 3 days, we are not going to consider you a no call no show, we are going to reach out and make sure you are alright “ (please remember this part)

This person also seen the work that I did when there was only one chef and myself on second shift, and how we worked to keep food on the hot line, hot grab and go and a huge salad bar, just the 2 of us. She complimented us on how efficient and productive we were. How clean the kitchen was and how much better our food looked and tasted.

Back to the grab and go, everyday that I worked I was always asked when I was going to put this out, whe was I going to make this. We did not have or could not get some of the items that were handed to me. I would also write down what I needed so it could be ordered. Sometime things would be out of stock or no longer on the order guide, or, even though they were marked grab and go, 1st shift would take them and use them and no one would reorder it. I started asking at the begging ling, when were they going to get someone to help with grab and go, because when hired, I told HR and she wrote it down, I only wanted 3 days of work. I was doing 4 before and after the Andover, just to help out, everyone knew 3 days was all I wanted.

I went to every manager, chef manager, exec. Chef, Food Service Director, who came up to me and told me she used to run this program and knew I needed help and was working on it. The last time I asked for help, but not the first time I asked my GM, was on Monday May 8,2023, I worked the Sunday before just to get baking done so I would not have to weight for ovens durning the day. So instead of working my Monday thru Thursday that week, I was going to work Sunday thru Wednesday. But on that Monday, my GM said that I needed to be there that Thursday to deliver the grab and go in-site. So I told my chef manager I was going to take the Tuesday off, because I wasn’t going to work 5 days.

We I returned to work on Wednesday, I was told my my chef manager that he got an Email from the GM and for me to “double whatever I was making, it wasn’t enough”

Now, this is Boeing, 6000 workers, the company is 24/7 3 different shifts and there is only one Me.

Since this was not the first time he (GM) has done this to me, he has on every occasion he can, come up to badger me about product,

I lost I, I could not understand how he expected more out of me, when I was the only person doing this job. No product in the freezer or walk ins, because they used it the truck doesn’t deliver until the next day..

I was in tears, stresses out, I cussed and left for the day with intentions to call HR when I calmed down. So I did so the next day, Thursday. I was then handed to another HR rep that had more going on in her life than she had time for. She called me on that Friday.

I found out that when I left that day, that within one hour, my GM and Food Service Director turned off y Badge, I could no longer get on site. NO ONE CALLED ME!

HR never got intouch with him that day, but in our talk, she told me to go back to work on Monday, I did, just to find out, she had never called him or touched base with him. I was the one that told him that I called HR, not knowing at the time he had no idea. So this gave them time to brain storm.

They tried to say I was a 3 day no call no show… I took that Tuesday off, I went in Wednesday clocked in and that time, they went in and erased ( told this to HR also, they have done nothing about it, I covered myself when I left Wednesday with my chef manager I told him I was calling out on Thursday, because NO ONE had called or talked to me, but I knew my badge would not work. This is when they sent a letter in the mail about no call no show. When I told HR about it and they finally got intouch with me, they said that was sent on accident. I believe it was back tracking covering their own butts.

So, after they had who they wanted to write statements and I wrote mine, I also let HR know who else was working that day, because they picked and chose who they wanted to write one, trying to cover themselves again. The next day, the others got to write theirs.

I have never been written up, never a verbal warning nothing. I have always gone above and beyond when it comes to y work. I was terminated for Code of Conduct, I cussed in the kitchen….

15 days this went on, and that is what they came up with. They even ignored the fact that I also got Fat Shamed by my GM in front of my chef manager, I reported that also… nothing has been done or said.
They cancelled all my benefits as of May 12th, ithis went in until May 30th. I could not go to the doctor or get the meds I need for my health and mental health, even though they “claim” to be all about mental health.

I feel like I’ve been bullied and harassed by my GM for the whole 6 months they have been there. Never getting me the help or product I needed to do the job. And now… they are no doing the grab and go, as of the day I left. Could this be age discrimination? I am 53, and according to my GM, gained weight since they gave us our uniforms, although everyone said there shrunk also. I’m the fat one!

also, if he is monitoring what I have been doing, why is he asking for pudding when I haven’t had time to make it in over a month. He’s a bully!

Suggested solution:

Compensation. Public apology. And management reprimanded , demoted or terminated.
