My complaint:

I am writing to formally raise a serious concern regarding the conduct of one of your delivery drivers and the ongoing unsafe loading practices at your site located near Turbotechnique garage, Morga Way, Bowthorpe Industrial Estate, Norwich.

On 27th of May around 10.00-10.15, while driving to Morgan Way, I encountered a dangerous and inappropriate situation just before the final turn left near your EVRI site. I was on the main road, stopped due to traffic ahead, when one of your drivers (lady in glasses) using a personal vehicle (Black colour van) pulled out from the side parking area in front of the EVRI building and blocked my lane. Despite clearly seeing my vehicle and having no space to exit safely, the driver forced her way into the road and demanded I reverse to let her through.

I politely asked her to speak respectfully, but she continued to shout and insisted that I reverse, which caused a queue behind her and forced me to yield against proper road conduct. A younger female staff member in high-visibility clothing, who appeared to be guiding drivers, stood by without intervening. A senior staff member, possibly a team leader or supervisor, also acknowledged the incident but made no effort to address it.

This incident is part of a broader issue: on weekdays between 10:00 and 12:00, the EVRI delivery area becomes highly congested. Delivery drivers use personal vehicles to collect parcels and park in a disorderly manner, blocking road access and creating unsafe conditions. Pedestrians (EVRI Drivers) frequently cross without attention to moving traffic, and no traffic safety system seems to be in place.

I am requesting the following:

An internal investigation into the incident

Proper traffic supervision during loading times

Clear signage and enforcement to ensure public road access is not obstructed

As a worker in the area, I believe the current situation poses a Health Safety risk to the public, EVRI staff, and other businesses. I hope this matter will be taken seriously and addressed ly.

Suggested solution:

I am requesting the following:

An internal investigation into the incident

Proper traffic supervision during loading times

Clear signage and enforcement to ensure public road access is not obstructed
