Viagogo complaint: They stole my tickets and my money

My complaint:

I had been selling tickets for a show, and I had accidentally put them up for the wrong date, Saturday show instead the Sunday show.

With over a month to go before the event these tickets were sold, and unfulfilled because only then had anyone noticed that the date was wrong. No checks were done by viagogo to ensure the dates were correct or the tickets matched what was advertised before the sale.

Since there was less time to the event i put them up again for the correct date and eventually these sold too. I was thinking great, I’ve made some money here, but no, what Viagogo did to fulfil my order was purchase the most expensive pair of tickets from their own site and give them to the buyer of the original pair of tickets and billed me the difference.

The next cheapest pair of tickets was over £100 more expensive then what I had them up for. So even when they sold for the actual day they were up for I was at a net loss.

I would have made more money if I had just given them away for free.

The worst part is, is that almost all of that net loss is provided by the now 3x incurred costs of the processing charges of Viagogo. These being the price of the tickets I originally sold, then the price of the tickets Viagogo purchased to fulfil that order and then the cost of the processing charges on the final sale.

Essentially what they’ve done is robbed me of my tickets and then charged me for the luxury of being robbed. That’s to the tune of an £114 loss. In the end I ended up with a net loss of £43 since the 2 tickets to the show cost me £60.

Suggested solution:

Remove the 3x processing fees and replaces with 1x and substitute from my net loss. You’ve made your money by robbing me of my profit, why not let me go home without a net loss. Your sight is nothing without people like me providing you with tickets.

What happened was an honest mistake which didn’t affect any business or sale, and it occurred over a month to go the event. Why doesn’t the business have cover these type incidents that are surely few and far between.
