My complaint:
I opened a new personal and business account with Venmo because 75% of my customers uses Venmo. So today a customer paid me thru Venmo, so I decided I would take my kids and wife to eat at a restaurant and just use Venmo since I forgot to get my wallet out of my welding truck on location. So I went in Venmo app and verified my identity and to make sure it worked I sent one of my employees money to get Welding rods since he was at welding supply and it went thru and was good. So my family and I got to place to eat and ordered some food and I went to go pay and it declined it and said my account was frozen, I called Venmo and talked to a supervisor and said ma’am I sent my driver’s license and please can you release the amount I owe for this dinner and lady says sir I’m so sorry you will receive a email within 7 business days just keep checking your email. I said ma’am please and you could hear it in her voice she did not care. I went back inside and explained what happened and showed I had money and asked if I could come back later or in the am to pay since I have money and credit cards in my welding truck that was 2 hrs away and I was told the law was on there way. After talking to the law and showed them I have money and not trying to screw anybody, the officer was nice and made me look bad as a parent and as a person because Venmo wanted to freeze my money but if I did that I would be in jail.
Suggested solution:
Get Venmo to unfreeze my account/money and pay for my time,fuel and charges on receiving money do to Venmo freezing my account/money. I was already verified on my business and personal account and sent a copy of my driver's licenses and on my Venmo app it said I have been verified, I have screen shots of everything. I work hard 7 days a week for my money and my family to make sure they have a good life and today Venmo made me look and feel bad as a person. Venmo does this to a lot of people after looking at reviews and still doing the same thing and this is a problem. It's time for Venmo to fix issues and pay for there mistakes.
