My complaint:
I had to fly to a funeral on 6252021 from Atlanta to Chicago Ohara and return on 627. I chose Uber for my transportation. My cost to go to the airport was $53.36 with a handsome cash tip to driver. Upon my return, being emotionally exhausted and a Senior Citizen and alone, I again clicked on Uber to get me home. What I saw with the Fee, going the same distance 48 hours earlier was devastating. I thought there was an error so I shut off my phone and restarted it. The cheapest cost was $147.12. I was left without other resources, standing alone in the heat and there is nothing else I could do but pay to get home. While I budget for every penny, I allowed for a comparable fare to get home as what I paid to get there, allowing a respectable margin of difference. While this has weighed heavily on me for days and nights, being embarrassed to even talk about it, I finally reached out and spoke to others and let them know what happened. I was told that it is possible that there is just a mistake and Uber would make it right but if not, this is totally unacceptable and needs to be reported to authority. Not only to protect the reputation of Uber but the moral component needs to be known and addressed. Uber knew I needed to get home, it was a quick trip and I was stuck!!! $147.12 for a 50 minute trip home is outrageous. It has not only put my finances in an extreme bind but emotionally, I am distraught. I have lost sleep as I cannot let this go as it is obvious, I was taken full advantage of. I am not some corporation where you hand in an expense report. I am an elderly woman that had to get to a funeral and get home. I had taken Uber, buses and planes to get to funeral in a 48 hour period, alone!. I was beyond exhausted. Had I not had the means to pay for this, I don’t know what I would have done. If this could happen to me, it could happen to anyone. It is frightening to be put in a situation as this when you trusted and relied on a company.

Suggested solution:
I would like to see a full refund of $147.12 for all the trouble, emotionally and financially this situation has caused me. I feel this is the only solution at this point.
I would appreciate a response by Monday, July 12 - 5PM.
