My complaint:

I JUST SPENT OVER 45 MINUTES WITH TRUIST CUSTOMER SERVICE AND ABSOLUTELY ACCOMPLISHED NOTHING.

Recently got an offer for a Truist Visa card that I accepted. I have an excellent credit score (close to 800)

I generally keep somewhere in the neighborhood of $20k in my Truist CHECKING account

I have my auto loan with Truist. So I get an offer for a new Credit Card with Truist, a Truist Future Card

I receive the card and activate it and put it in my wallet. Then for the first time I attempt to use this credit card. It gets rejected and my Truist account says the card it currently unavailable

I call Customer Service. I literally get passed around from one person to the aother and spend a total of 47 minutes on the phone with Truist Customer service and the final straw is that the person could not help me because I could not remember an address from somewhere I lived 20 years ago.

I actually gave this information to multiple people and one after another they would put me on a ‘brief’ hold and the whole ordeal lasted for OVER 45 minutes. The last person told me that I had one of two options for her to be able to help me, to find an address for somewhere I lived 20 years ago or to go into a branch with multiple ID’s. I actually gave this perosn the account number for my CHECKING ACCOUNT and they still would not verify my adentity.

I informed this person that I would choose a third option, I will simply close this account, not use it at all and take my business elsewhere. Perhaps I should move my checking account as well. I get lots of offers giving me various bonuses for opening a checking account with another institution and since I generally keep a rather large balance in my checking account I am sure I caould collect on those bonusses.

I will expect some response from Truist regarding this travesty of customer service.
