My complaint:

I called the cheesecake factory to ask about reservations. It is my moms 60th birthday and I wanted to book a table for 10 people for October 2, 2021. During my first call, I was advised that they do not hold reservations for parties greater than 6 people. After getting off the phone, I called back to ask about coming in early to reserve a table in advance. The cheesecake factory is my mothers favorite restaurant and I wanted to do anything possible to ensure we can have a surprise birthday dinner for her. When asked if I could arrive at 4 pm to get a table around 5 pm. The employee replied that they would not be able to hold a table for me for an hour. I asked her if I could put my name in during that time and wait until the table was ready she stated that I would not be able to get a table at 5 pm. She then went on to say that this large of a party would not even be a possibility for them as it will be a Saturday and that they will be booked all day. When I asked how you accommodate large parties the employee laughed and said we see large parties all of the time. I asked why she stated that it was not a possibility to seat my party? She did not have an answer for me. I am applaud at the lack of support, willingness to help, and kindness in assisting me. Coming from someone who grew up working in the restaurant business, no one deserves this type of customer service. I will not be having my mothers birthday dinner at this establishment and I will not recommend it in the future.

Suggested solution:

Realistically, they should teach or train employees to have empathy and willingness to help the customers as best as possible so that this does not happen in the future.
