My complaint:
Hi. I am writing about my unpleasant experience at 89-89 Union Turnpike Glendale, NY 11385 on 12921. (Store 539). I originally wanted to purchase the Pure Leaf Tea at 2 for $4. I saw it in the fridge section and picked it up. I got two of the last three. Went to self checkout and instead of ringing up for 2 for $4 as tagged, it was $3.29. I clicked the “help” button on self checkout and the associate managing the self checkout section glared right past me. It took a minute to finally get her attention as she had her own personal music playing in the background. She then sighed heavily when she got to me. I explained the situation and she tried to figure it out on her own for a few minutes before she called over her supervisor. The supervisor immediately and rudely declared I was wrong right from the start. I asked if she could show me the “correct” product. She walked me over to the fridge where I got the items. She said “well these are wrong.” I asked if there were any in the back and not stocked. She told me to hush. She was not helpful nor tried to be. She didn’t offer me a rain check or resolve the situation. Furthermore, why was an item on the weekly ad when the item was “sold out” the first day of the sale? Either she was lying and they did not stock it on the shelf or not enough items were ordered for them to sell. Either way this is poor management. I am extremely disappointed in the management and customer service and would rethink shopping here in the future.
Suggested solution:
Apologize on behalf of their rude employees and that the store manager needs to manage their inventory and shipments better. How would an item that is in the circular flyer be sold out on the day the sale starts? Offer a raincheck or some sort of future discount for its loyal customer because of the inconvenience.
