My complaint:
I was going toward checkout area with my items. Lady rudely suggests I use the self check out. I replied, “no thank you”. She then said some one with be right with you. The same lady then it’s over doing something in that same corner then she walked by with the shopping carts and I’ll be with you in a moment rudely again. I have no clue why she felt the need to go to the side to grab a shopping cart to put it to the other side there’s nobody there. I stood in line with my kids and have my items on the counter she asked if I had optimum card and I said yes I also told her I had a tax exempt card. She told me to pull my mask over my nose. So I did. I am exempt from wearing a mask but I wear it so I could go and get a few things that we needed to get..I passed her my optimum card to the little hole and she tossed it rudely back to me on the other side of the plexiglass. So I passed her my status card, and I stood there and I cross my arms I was waiting to see if she’s going to throw that too because I was going to walk out. She was really rude.
We are first nations, my sons who are 1415 said were used to it mom just let it go. I’m not sure why this woman felt she needed to be ignorant to me because she was sweet as part of the damn woman behind us. We did not do nothing wrong to her as soon as she seen us in that store she was just rude even her tone. I think “Diane”really needs to step back and see how she treats people. An elder or not she is disgusting with her people skills
Suggested solution:
She should take a course on racism in the way she treats people. We went to tthree other stores that day in that mall. She was the only one rude to us. And I know exactly why she was rude to us. I am done and tired of ignorant people just because our skins a little bit browner. I’m tired of my kids having to see this and thinking it’s acceptable and normal because they are used to it. There’s so much I wanted to say to that Diane but I didn’t because my kids were there and she’s an elder. But I don’t know where she gets off treating us like that
