My complaint:

I had purchased a electric scooter from shoppers drug mart on the 26th of October 2022 at approx 10 am The total price was $464.76 now I plugged the scooter in immediately after I opened the box (I had to open the box to get the instructions to know that I had to plug it in for 4 hrs before the 1st use) 4 hrs later I tried to get said scooter to work well needless to say it didn’t work. I packaged it all back up it was totally clean as it didn’t work so it couldn’t get dirty. I walked into shoppers drug mart and was told that if I wanted a refund I had to see customer service so that’s what I did. I also should mention that I had a friend with me at the time too. So I proceed to tell this middle aged woman who was a manager I guess my dilemma with the scooter and she took one look at me and my friend and proceeded to tell us that she would not be doing a refund or exchange of any sort that she knows our type and we live in tent city(a homeless camp in Smithers) and she goes on to say in front of about 10 customers that the town of Smithers would be so much better off if they made the homeless people leave. Now myself and my friend both have apartments of our own I pay rent since the day that I moved out of my parents house. Now not only was I embarrassed and belittled but she didn’t even know me as a person and jumped to the conclusion that I was homeless and on-top of that said that I was a burden to the town of Smithers.

Suggested solution:

Myself and my friend would like some sort of compensation for the experience I had to endure. There is a more professional way to handle situations I'm sure.
