My complaint:

I created an account with Shopify to promote my small business and sell my products. After signing up for a subscription, I was setting up my shop and couldn’t figure out how to set up collections and adjust my featured products. I went through several articles but they all just explained how to do it. None of them gave any explanation about why it wasn’t showing up on my admin menu. After going around and around with the ChatBot, trying to answer a simple question. I was constantly sent links to suggested help topics that were not relevant to my issue. When attempting to speak with a person, the bot continued to tell me that I needed to verify my account. I clicked on the link and it gives me an error message about the page not loading. Finally, I lose my patience with the bot and tell it that it is the issue now and that I quit and it response to me recommending that I seek mental health support (see pic). As someone who regularly sees a mental health professional, I was completely offended by this. When informing their support reps about the issue, the only response I get is we apologize about this and I’m passing this information along because it shouldn’t be happening.

Suggested solution:

Show me that they care about my concern and do something to rectify the issue. Saying you're sorry doesn't take back what already happened or solve the added stress and mental anguish this has caused. I'm a husband and father of 4 on a single income. Signing up for Shopify was supposed to help sell my products to earn extra income and relieve my financial trouble and stress it causes, not adding to my stress and misleading me on what features are available when signing up for a plan that I can afford to pay for. Even though, this plan will most likely not drive any business to my shop, it at least gives me the platform to host my products. It really sucks that you have to pay a lot of money each month just to get your business promoted. Doesn't the company make money off of a percentage of every product that sells? Shouldn't the company want to promote all business on their platform and not specifically target the ones that can afford to pay premium rates?
