My complaint:
I have never been so terrified in all my life, My party of 4 arrived at the reception at 12.20 on Friday 15th April to be told we had to come back at 3pm they did allow us to leave our cases in a open bar area with a chair across (very safe not) I did ask the question will someone be there guarding the cases to which i got a grunt and a sticker.
On return at 3pm we couldnt even get out of the list as the que to check in was round the building reception is on the 2nd floor people were crammed everywhere and i mean crammed the lift door was open but we couldnt get out, No masks no social distancing as i am sure you are aware Scotland at this time was still mandatory to wear face masks.
I work for the NHS and did point this out just to be grunted at again to say i was scared was a understatement.
I spotted some self check in machines which i managed to get through by pushing and barging as lets just say not a lot of people were happy, once there i was then charged ten pounds for god knows what to check us in , people were crying arguing it was horrific.
once we had the cards in our hand we battled through the non mask wearing crowd again only to find the machines hadn’t actually activated the cards, I cannot explain the terror or frustration at this point i left the building to try and find another hotel, which unfortunately were all booked up as a big football game was taking place on the weekend.
This whole episode destroyed our city break as we were all convinced we had caught the virus and as we are all NHSmilitary felt it unfair to really go anywhere.
Truly disappointed in the whole thing what a complete disgrace.
Suggested solution:
Check ins should be staggered not a flipping free for all crush
And a refund For the terror we recieved, I did tell reception staff what we thought not really sure they even listened.
