My complaint:
I am utterly devastated, and disappointed. Myself and my wife have been returning customers to Park Dean Resorts for well over 8 years, we’ve spent literally upwards of £30,000 staying at their sites, our latest trip to Holywell Bay cost over £4000 just in accommodation. The caravan given to us this year was absolutely horrendous, on entry the door wouldn’t open correctly, this became a reoccurring theme throughout the caravan, every door wouldn’t close properly without being forced shut like the caravan’s chassis was somehow twisted, the door handles were loose and the locks on the door were all damaged. The carpet in the living room was loose at the edges and rippled, and absolutely filthy it was disgusting. The caravan absolutely stank of cannabis, I had to go out and buy air fresheners for each room. The settee had seated cushion had collapsed in one corner, part of the settee bed that was being used, and no extra bedding covers had been supplied. The decking outside had a used pair of pants that someone had left behind, and the outdoor light wasn’t working, we generally will pay the extra to have decking as we like to sit outside but we paid for nothing as the outside was unusable. We went to reception on three occasions to get the issues rectified and not one thing was rectified even after wasting a full day waiting in for them to come and carry out repairs. We paid more for this van than the people who had paid for the highest range caravan, and we got an atrocious service. Even the outdoor pools heating kept tripping out overnight, so it was hit and miss whether the pool would be warm. We have always loved coming to Cornwall and spending our holidays at either Crantock or Holywell, and for the last 4 years Holywell, but this latest experience has made me question whether we will revisit, as it stands that was the highest paid holiday we’ve had with Parkdean and unfortunately the worst experienced holiday we’ve ever had with them. I don’t think we will be returning due to this experience, we like everyone work extremely hard to try and treat our family for two weeks out of a whole year, only to receive frankly garbage accommodation and garbage service means that with a heavy heart we won’t be returning anymore.
Suggested solution:
I’m not sure it can be resolved, a refund would be a start or as a bare minimum heavily discounted price for a holiday next year.
