My complaint:
BOOKED THE FERNDOWN CARAVAN . on arrival we noticed all carpets was urine stained and so was all couches in the caravan .the caravan stank of urine and on the warm days we had it got worse the carpet in the hallway was also heavily stained as the main bedroom carpet was .one arm of the patio sofa was broken and when i lent on it i nearly fell onto the decking .also some of the dining table chairs had lost any spring in the upholstery and one leg had split on one chair and another chair leg was unsafe .the main bedroom was so small that i as a large disabled man struggled to get down the side of the bed 12in gap either side to get into and out of bed .i could not sleep in any of the other rooms as beds very small and only a 6/8 in gap to get in and out of bed .i ended up sleeping on the long sofa on two duvets to try and block the smell of urine in the end myself and my wife cut our holiday short and came home two days early .admittedly we booked a dog friendly van and on the last two visits to sandford park the dog friendly caravans was clean and spacious for our needs .but the caravan we got this year WHICH WAS NOT THE ONE WE ORDERED the last van we had had an onsuite and a lot of room around the bed .i actually thought by the pictures and description i was upgrading to a very very much larger van .as i stated was heavily stained and stank to high heaven .this caravan should at least be taken out of service for a week and at least have carpets and upholstery removed or at least deep cleaned .just to state the cleaning girls are brilliant and make every effort to make the move into your holiday caravan as easy as possible but they cannot perform cleaning miracles when a caravan is in such a state
Suggested solution:
i have used holidays like butlins and haven holidays .and on the last two occasions i have enjoyed my holiday with parkdean holidays .i have never stayed in a caravan so filthy and to be honest for the money i paid i at least expect the van to be clean and all items of furniture to at least be safe when sitting on .as i stated before i did tell parkdean i was disabled but did not this time .as a customer who has visited before i would think that had been on file but it was never referred to by me or parkdean resorts this time .also there was no wellcome pack just our keys given to us on arrival .also maybe 10/7 days before arrival we normally get a wellcome message about our upcoming holiday there was nothing like that .to be honest i truly do not know how to resolve this issue but would advise the caravan in questian 29 chestnut be taken out of service highly cleaned furniture replaced and aired to rid it of the putrid smell of urine .i and my wife are hoping that we have not been put off by this years experience . and hope that we might go back to parkdean again
