My complaint:
As an avid cruiser who has done many different cruises with Norwegian, Celebrity, Carnival and Royal Caribbean it was time we decided to give MSC a chance. With what we thought had great reviews we were really excited to see what a “luxury cruise” would look like. We were completely disgusted by the service provided by the employees, the quality of food, cleanliness of the rooms and decks.
On day one when we arrived on our ship our rooms were not clean. Dirty carpets, dirty socks left from previous guests, mini bar locked, bottle of wine (which we paid for ahead of time) with no corkscrew, every time we asked for directions for somewhere or had inquiries about excursions we were “pointed” in the direction.
We have never experienced something quite like this cruise. I’m not sure if it was because we are Canadian on a Mediterranean cruise but we have never felt more disrespected in our lives. We paid top dollar for this cruise and we will NEVER return.
We also didn’t get to stop in our only overnight port (Mykonos) due to weather, which we understood, but there was NO compensation whatsoever for missing an entire day of our trip. We will be spreading the words and hope no one else spends their hard earned money on an MSC cruise.
Suggested solution:
Compensation for our trip of ANY kind. We spent a lot of money on this trip and it was our first time ever visiting Europe. We hope you can make this right. Or at minimum, we hope others don’t make the same mistake as we did
