Mercari complaint: Getting scammed and Mercari doing nothing about it

My complaint:

My name is David and I sold a pair of Ferragamo loafers to a buyer (“W”) in NJ. They were shipped with via UPS with Mercari prepaid label. I was informed via tracking that they arrived on Friday 7/7. On Sunday 7/9 I receive notification on Mercari that my account is restricted for “prohibitive” behavior and that the sale is cancelled.

These are authentic Ferragamos purchased personally at Nordstrom. Now I don’t have the shoes, don’t have money from the sale, have a restricted Mercari account, and can’t even message the buyer to inquire about the cancellation. Plus, Mercari offered no details or transparency as to why the order was cancelled and why my account was restricted. I messaged Mercari numerous times via their help center but received no response.

I tried calling but there is no way to actually talk to someone. It seems I’m getting scammed by a buyer and Mercari is only facilitating it. My rights as a seller have been completely violated. Shame on Mercari for their abject practices and non-existent customer service.

Suggested solution:

Release proceeds from the sale or return my shoes and unrestrict my account. I did nothing wrong, only brought Mercari business.
