About Marlboro

While Marlboro is a cigarette brand sold through supermarkets, convenience stores and tobacconists rather than direct to the public, complaints about age-restricted branded goods tend to follow the same shape: packs found damaged, crushed or poorly sealed, printed coupons and promotions that retailers refuse to accept, age-verified brand accounts that lock people out, loyalty points and mailings that stop without warning, and uncertainty over whether the manufacturer or the shop answers for the pack.

A case against a brand sold at retail needs both halves of the trail. Keep the till receipt and the name of the shop, photograph the pack, the outer wrapping and any batch or date code printed on it, and save the coupon or offer terms along with the account or membership number the points sit under.

Coupon refused or points wiped from your account? Put it down with us. We write the case against the programme terms and add it to other buyers hit the same way.

How do I contact Marlboro customer service?

We have no phone number or email on record for Marlboro. In the US, Marlboro is made by Philip Morris USA, and the consumer contact details are printed on the pack and the carton; the Marlboro website also has a help section once you sign in to your age-verified account, which is the route for coupon and rewards questions. Outside the US, the brand is sold by Philip Morris International and its local affiliates, again with the contact details on the pack. Keep the pack with its printed codes, the receipt and the name of the store.

Locked out of an age verified account, or rewards points that stopped without warning? Start your complaint here and we help you write an effective complaint fast.

How do I complain about stale or defective Marlboro cigarettes?

Keep the pack and what is left of the product, and note the codes printed on the bottom of the pack, the store and the date of purchase: with those, the manufacturer can trace the production run and see whether the problem is a single pack or a batch. Describe the defect precisely, for example a loose or damaged filter, a stale product or packs that were clearly old when sold, and photograph it. Report it through the consumer contact on the pack, and tell the store as well, because stock that sat too long on the shelf is usually a retailer problem. Put the pack codes, the store and the date in your complaint here, and other smokers who bought from the same production run can back your case up with codes of their own.

What can I do if a store refuses my Marlboro coupon?

Manufacturer coupons are accepted at the retailer's discretion, and most have conditions in the small print: an expiry date, specific pack sizes or product lines, and sometimes state or store restrictions. Check those first; if the coupon should have been accepted, ask for the store manager and keep the coupon rather than letting the cashier take it. Then report the store name, location and date to Marlboro consumer services, because the brand can take it up with the retailer.

Coupon turned down at the till when it met every condition in the small print? Take it through our complaint process with the store name, the location and the date, and we push it out to Marlboro and to the retailer by email, on social media and by printed letter.

How do I complain about Marlboro Rewards or my Marlboro account?

Problems with points that do not post, codes that are rejected or an account that is locked go through the help section of the Marlboro website in the US, where the rewards program is run. Before you contact them, screenshot the rejected code or the missing points, note the date and keep the pack the code came from, and make sure your account details and age verification are up to date, because a mismatch is a common reason for a locked account. Be careful with third-party sites that offer to sell or exchange codes: they are outside the program and a common source of fraud.
