My complaint:

I was stood behind an elderly gentleman in the checkout queue. He had a bag of compost in his trolley he said I can’t lift it to there sorry The checkout assistants reply was it needs to be scanned on here . I then lifted the compost from his trolley onto her scanner. She then passed it through her scanner and put it on the other side. This gentle man couldn’t lift it on so how was he going to lift it off??.

She offered no help at all she sat there with a look of total disconcern as I then walked round and put his compost back into his trolley. He gave her his money/card and walked towards the exit. I then waited for her to put my shopping through.. she never acknowledged me with a Hello or hi or anything.. nor did she thank me for helping the elderly gentle man.

She never said please or thank you when asking for the amount. I had to say that as I collected my receipt i did say that her ‘Customer service skills ‘ were abysmal and disgusting. I got the same unemotional look off her as the elderly gentle man.

I then went to leave and saw this gentleman struggling to get the compost in his car boot. Might I add I am no spring chicken as I am over 60 years old and i helped this gentle man.

Suggested solution:

In my mind this particular member of staff need reprimanding for her total disregard for the customers who pay her wages or even worse. If this what you regard as your customer shopping wlecomming experience you really need to think about retraining .to help you identify the offending Lidl colleague I enclose a photo of my receipt.
