HP complaint: Global warranty not global and bad customer service

My complaint:

Bought my laptop earlier this year (feb) in Malaysia during holiday and was guaranteed global warranty. Came back to work in Shanghai and found out this month (Aug) the laptop is having issues – screen in flickering and can’t start up.

Brought it to the HP center and was informed they will have to charge me 100 USD or (1000 if the repairs don’t work) to do repairs as the warranty is only valid for Chinese bought laptops. My laptop has been at the shop for over a week now and not sure when I’m getting it back.

Never buying a HP laptop again and recommend everyone else to get something else. Terrible customer experience.

Suggested solution:

Do not charge repairs costs for my laptop. Honor the global warranty.
