My complaint:

I made a purchase of a handbag and scarf at the Hermes in Rome early Dec 2023. The employee put a different country than what my passport said. I couldn’t claim the VAT back at the airport due to their mistake. It was a lost of $500 U.S. I called the Rome store multiple times and they said they are working Ina resolution to blow me off. It’s been 3 months and complete silence from them. They made no efforts to rectify their mistake. Have not offered any compensation for the lost amount. Not even a courtesy apology. What kind of customer service is this from a luxury brand? Where can I go to get this problem escalated. They can’t treat customers in this manner.

Suggested solution:

I would prefer a refund of the lost amount. They should send an equivalent credit of $500 to spend at one of the store or minimum small gift to make up for their MiSTAKE.
