My complaint:
I’d like to formally send a complaint about the general store manager Adam and this Food Lion location on Highway 55 in Durham NC for racial discrimination towards the hispanic employees. My mother has worked in groceries stores many years and the comments and actions that the manager has made toward her and a select few at this store is unacceptable. Make sure all the Hispanics go home early is quoted directly from him because he doesn’t want to give ANY overtime. Now, I don’t claim to know the context but signaling out any race in this way is completely unacceptable for management. This is not the only incident. My mother has had enough and I just want to voice concerns. She is close to just quitting which is unfortunate for her and the store as she is a hard working employee. Please do not hesitate to contact me. I’m her daughter and I speak for her as she is unable to communicate very well in English. With this complaint, I would just like Adam to be spoken to about his actions and be more aware of his discrimination. Thank you.
Suggested solution:
Perhaps hire a new store manager all together. If decided to keep the current one, have him complete a racial discrimination training because he can't be allowed to be this blatantly racist.
