My complaint:
On Tuesday June 8, 2021 at approximately 18:30, My grandson and I were fishing at Blythe landing. We go to this location because its one of five county parks that is designated for fishing. In addition, its very close to were I live. We were fishing near the pumphouse and near the Sailing school. There is a break from the rocky shoreline were it is sandy and your able to stand near the water without falling. We were about twenty feet away from the sailing school’s floating dock. The dock was empty because of some race and no one was around.
In the distance, I noticed some of the small sailing vessels heading back to the dock. I decided to leave because I didn’t want to get in anyone’s way and it was getting late.
Just as I was collecting my things a man approached me and said there is no fishing and I was trespassing. I was shocked and asked what he was talking about? I have been coming to the park for about twenty years and never had any complaints. I addition, I called and asked several agencies about fishing regulation at the park. The park is 1 of 5 parks designated for fishing. The man told me that it was private property and there was no fishing allowed! If I wanted to fish I should go to Ramsey Park. Also, he told me that if I joined the sailing school I could fish there! Please speak to the sailing school and make them understand that the park does not evolve around them. Every agency I spoke with informed me that I could fish anywhere at the park with the exception of their floating dock. However, the sailing school wants no one near the school and especially someone fishing!
I have a great idea, discontinue the lease with the sailing school and open up a fast food tackle shop establishment that caterers to the fishing community. A place were people can rent little boats, kayaks, jon boats. A place the people can take there kids for a fun in the sun day!
Suggested solution:
Speak to them and or don't renew their lease.
