My complaint:
My bills normally ran from $260-$400 I fell behind on a payment so I requested payment plan which was $216.92 plus the monthly bill charges. On one of my bills which stated a 9 day cycle my bill was $494 and jumped to $1317.40 in 9 days. My bill is currently $2530.62 disconnected until I pay the minimum payment of $2280.23? I don’t understand how Duke energy is charged my rates so high. I have 3 children under the age of 14 and no way to come up with the minimum amount they say is owed. I’ve searched for assistance but no luck. My main issue is that I got the disconnected notification the day after my power was disconnected? I have no help whatsoever. My paycheck isn’t going to be enough to pay my mortgage and power? I’m stuck between a rock and a hard place
Suggested solution:
They should reevaluate my bills and see there's no way I've accumulated the amount of power they claim
