My complaint:

I’ve been battling with this department since my fathers passing in March. I was first told that I had to contact SSA and they issue the card and have all the information. As you all know, that hold is long. After bouncing back and forth between the two businesses I find that direct express ahold handle the claim. I was finally given a contact and was told to that the process takes 4-6 weeks. In May I reach out to the estate claims email address. I did not receive Andy communication back until July 7th requesting a letter of affidavit. Which is entirely redundant considering I have a court order appointment as Executor of the estate. But I obliged and sent that document in too. I still have not heard back. When I call I get reps who are entirely nonchalant and show now care to my loss. My father death was tragic and unexpected. Here it is almost 5 Months after his death and I can’t continue my grieving process due to still needed to make contact with these people.
They should be held accountable. Training should be revisited and management needs to see a turn over. It’s clear that they don’t release the funds to acquire interest that the company get to keep.

Suggested solution:

I’d like my estate claim processed simply put. I’ve don’t all I was suppose to do. Are they fraudulent holding funds to make interest while possible before releasing the funds?

I’m wondering if there is any updates on this incident. I noticed that this was posted over a year ago and I’m early in my process. I’m on my 7th week of the 4-6 week timeframe. I guess I’m looking for hope.

I’m over 8 weeks and waiting.
With estate claims there is only auto reply communication.
They are not practicing due diligence.
Un real.
Contact your congressman woman.
This is criminal too take this long.
Regards
Jess

I agree that it’s criminal and every time I try to call direct Express I am put on hold and then hung up on. I have been waiting 10 weeks to get my husband’s funds. I don’t understand why the social security administration can’t do something to help people like us I am very poor and I need that money. Sincerely Connie Smith

I am in the same exact situation as the person that made the post, yourself. This doesn’t make any sense, and SS doesn’t help with anything after their clients are deceased.
