My complaint:

I have had storage at Cubesmart in Belmont, NC for about 3 years. First they mislead me about my so called climate controlled unit. It was not! All they did was put a vent in the unit and stated it would get air flow from other units, which it did not! They overcharged me the entire time for a fake unit with no climate control. They know this. Secondly, they put my items on auction while I was in constant contact and trying to resolve. In addition, their staff was extremely rude and was told I best take care of it and then proceeded with scheduling auction after I told them I would come to office to settle. It was only resolved after I sent a complaint to their main office. After that terrible customer service treatment and lies, I decided to take my business elsewhere. Someplace appreciated. I called and emailed the facility to let them know I would no longer require their service and the unit was cleaned out and locks removed. In the meantime, I was locked out by the gate code. They completely ignored my messages and contnued to bill and threaten with auction and continuously harrassing payment phone calls. I corresponded by email and informed them of that by telephone, in order to assure accurate, truthful conversations rather than verbal. All this being ignored. Now they claim I left items in unit and have supposedly removed the auction process and are still billing as an in use unit. Now I dont know for sure about items cause I am locked out and being charged! My unit was empty so I am being charged for either invisible items or someone else’s. Im sure by now they have lied to someone else about the unit and rented it out. I know for a fact that is what they are telling potential customers! This has got to be illegal and at most immoral. Maybe time to see attorney and sue them for false information.

Suggested solution:

They should stop billing and adding charges for something I no longer have after they were notified. Stop lying abour unit contents when I personally cleaned out unit. Recalculate unit for period used as a non climate controlled unit and issue refund. Seek customer service training and just tell the truth.
