My complaint:
From the moment I walked in the door I was treated rudely! I have been a customer at this location for six years and until today have had NO complaints. Kathy the manager was not there which explains why I had a problem because if she was she would not stand for the abusive mistreatment I endured. Here’s what happened.
The CSR behind the desk was Spanish and I am Caucasian, but that is not without a way to prove discrimination so I will move on. There was another Spanish customer sitting with her so I was respectful and went to grab another chair behind the other work station not being used. When I did she SNAPPED at me in a scolding tone and said: May I help you? so by this time she had made up her mind that I was the problem. I just wanted to pay my storage unit bill. She then proceeded to say: I can’t help you from over there. The computer station was OFF so I couldn’t possibly be doing anything wrong. I was just trying to be respectful of the other customer and keep my social distancing space but there was no other chair. She wanted me to grab the one by the other customer and sit by the front door which I would gladly have done. It was her spiteful tone that upset me so I offered to come back tomorrow and she shook her head and rolled her eyes. My wife then came in after I left and she was rude to her too. The CSR made it a point to COMPLAIN about the man that just came in and THAT IS TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL! My wife being in customer service herself felt that the CSR’s response was unnecessary given the situation.
Suggested solution:
Formally and professionally REPRIMAND and talk to the CSR on duty the day of Monday, July 19th at 5:30pm so that she will be mindful of how she treats long term paying customers. The company should take note and keep an eye on her and any further complaints. If this becomes a pattern or habitual conduct she should be removed, but not necessarily fired just put in a position somewhere else.
