My complaint:
I submitted a claim to CHW for a refrigerator door gasket. CHW sent out a technician. He said the door gasket has worn over time. However, the gasket is not in stock and not available anymore. He informed CHW that the next best option is to replace the door. CHW sent a second technician to . Pictures were taken. Technician had the exact same diagnosis. CHW then emailed me that my claim was denied because of user damage and not normal wear and tear. I complained, sent pictures, and escalated since both CHW sent technicians clearly articulated that the damage IS normal wear and tear and Searspartsdirect.com have a replacement part. Case manager called indicating the case was still declined, but was willing to offer a small $ amount (~10% of cost of door) as goodwill gesture or I could go get the part myself. They then closed the claim.
When researching on line, CHW usual tactic is to claim lack of maintenance andor user damage when the cost is above $500. Buyer beware.
Suggested solution:
Fince the gasket or replace the door.
