My complaint:
I have been a loyal Capital One customer for over 20 years. I am in good standing and because my situation is financially stressed, I thought I would use my rewards to secure gift cards for my wife and children for the Christmas Holiday. I was informed that the gift cards would arrive in 2-3 weeks. No tracking number was provided and since they were gifts I neglected to tell my wife that they were arriving. Unfortunately, the gift cards arrived in one week and my wife accidentally discarded them as they arrived in a non-descript, white envelope. I cashed over 60,000 miles for $400 worth of cards! I called customer service twice and on both occasions they explained to me that this would not be a problem. I received a call today from rewards services that Capital One will not reimburse my points nor reissue the gift cards. This is how Capital One supports families during a pandemic? A multi-million dollar company.
Suggested solution:
I would like my the gift cards reinstated to me.
