My complaint:

My wife and I purchased a new floor model LG Refrigerator Model LRFWS2906S on 05122022 from Best Buy and had it delivered and installed on 05172022 and also purchased a new water line as required for the door water dispenser and ice cube maker. The installation Crew ID 2607 12C told us to flush 5 to 7 gallons of water (I flushed 7 gallons) prior to using the filtered water dispenser on outside of the door and to throw away the 1st tray of ice cubes in the freezer, which we did, so there would be no contaminates in the water of ice cubes. From that point on the water had a funny plastic, machine metal taste and funny smell, and seemed to get a little better but never went away. Unfortunately we both started to experience intermittent bouts of diarrhea shortly after using the water and ice cubes, but never though at the time it may be caused by the water and ice cubes. About 2 or 3 weeks ago I decided to call LG and ask them about the water and ice cube taste and smell issues and fully explained everything. LG stated they thought it may be a defective water filter so they sent us a new filter and about less than a week later I received the new filter. The next day I followed the LG instructions to remove the old filter inside the top of the refrigerator, and opened the cover to remove the filter, and to my surprise there was no water filter, but was a plastic green cap only that had been installed by the LG Factory and kept the water system as a closed loop system. I called LG and explained what I found and they verified the green cap was done at the Factory and that Best Buy should have installed the water filter that came with the refrigerator. I also explained to LG about the diarrhea and concern now both my wife and I have as to what contaminates we both now have in our bodies from whatever may have been in this water system that was unfiltered. LG shared our concern and know shortly after the filter was installed both of our intermittent diarrhea issues went away, and this now makes it a strong possibility the unfiltered water and ice cubes were more than likely the cause. Again, we have some serious concerns as to what else we may have taken into our bodies as a result of the egregious error on the part of Best Buy and their Installation Crew.

Suggested solution:

We expect a form of compensation for the harm this may have caused both of us and know we are long time Best Buy Customers and Credit Card Holders. We think a fair resolution would be to forgive the remaining balance of the refrigerator cost on our Best But Credit Card.
