My complaint:
I booked a flight in August 2022 for myself and 4 family members to return home from an Alaskan cruise tour that ends in Vancouver. I booked an 11:25am flight from Vancouver to Montreal. When putting flight info into the app I’m using for travel insurance in January 2023, I discovered my flight was not listed. I contacted “smart fares” where I booked the flight to inquire what happened to my flight. They responded days later that the flight was moved to 9:40am that day. They asked me to email saying I accept the change. I emailed saying I do NOT accept the change because our ship is not scheduled to dock until 7:30 am and I don’t have enough time to disembark the ship, travel 30 min across the city and get through security to make the 9:40 flight. Smart fares referred me to contact Air transat customer service. The customer service agent I spoke with said I booked an economy flight and I could not change to another flight or receive a refund. I asked to talk to a supervisor and was put on hold for 212 hours. I finally hung up without being able to talk to anyone else.
Suggested solution:
Either give me a refund, or change my flight to the next later Vancouver to Montreal flight which I believe 9:40 am the following day.
