Wayfair.co.uk complaint: Retrieving my personal belonging that was collected by Wayfair

My complaint:

I bought a cutlery set on the Wayfair website and the set arrived not looking like the advertised product.
I called Wayfair informing them of this and I was offered a return of the item to be organised.
I did receive an email to advise me of the collection of the cutlery set. However, no date and time were specified in the email. The cutlery set was ready to be collected and I work from home. So I was available all week for the collection to take place.

The UPS carrier came to my property and instead of knocking and talking to me in order to be given the package, they collected a package that was left in front of my property by another courier who had arrived earlier to deliver a package, precisely Hermes. With all due respect, this had nothing to do with me as a customer as I have done what was required of me; being at home waiting for the collection with the package ready. UPS should have knocked and talked to me instead of collecting my unintended private belonging left in front of my door. The package obviously had Hermes sticker on it and I was not informed that the driver would pick the package from my front door without talking to me.

In my understanding and from the form left in my front door, Wayfar organised the pick up with UPS from my property to a third party address. I am not sure why and what is the connection between Wayfair and Eucapital Homeware as it was indicated in the form left in front of my door that the parcel was to be delivered to them. The form left by UPS indicated that the item had to be delivered to Eucapital Homeware at Newton Yards End Sturminster Newton DT102DO.

I don’t know Eucapital Homeware and I have no dealings with them. Wayfair does. I contacted UPS several times and they indicated that the parcel was delivered to Eucapital Homeware and signed by a recipient on the 9th of August. According to them, Wayfair should contact Eucapital Homeware and ask them to ship back the package to me as they have no dealing with them either. They only provided transportation from my property to the address provided to them by Wayfair.

So now, I don’t understand why Wayfair would not contact their recipient. I have no contact details for me to reach your recipient and request for the package to be send back to me.

In the meantime, Wayfair had managed to send for the cutlery set to be collected from my house on the 18th of August, but still refuse to return my personal belonging.

Suggested solution:

I want my personal belonging back or a compensation for the philips perfectcare compact steam generator iron up to 250g steam boost that was taken from my property
